HOW OHF STARTED
Operation Human First (OHF) was founded by Canadian physiotherapist, Kinstretch instructor, and Strength Coach, Alex Murphy. Alex is also the owner of Longevity Physical Therapy in Canada.
OHF was born to meet needs and requests coming from both local and international clients during the COVID-19 pandemic. When the pandemic hit Canada, Alex’s in-person Kinstretch classes for first responders, local members of the community, and athletes all moved online (over Zoom).
An influx of requests then began to come in from social media followers around the world to join the Zoom Kinstretch classes. As such, Alex started running additional classes that were open to anyone and everyone around the world. These classes became populate and people in other time zones who were waking up in the middle of the night to attend the classe began to request recorded classes to accomodate the time difference.
There became a growing concern from customers that the online Kinstretch class recordings would come to a halt when in-person classes resumed, which led to a large volume of requests for subscription that allowed people to continue to receive access to prior and new recorded Kinstretch classes going forward.
Operation Human First (OHF) was then created to address these requests and meet the needs of those around the world who wanted to continue with the classes. OHF operated as Kinstretch with Alex (KWA) at the time.
KWA became much more than Kinstretch classes alone and evolved into a more comprehensive platform with the addition of sections that were not specific or exclusive to Kinstretch. In this process, the platform was renamed from Kinstretch with Alex to Operation Human First.
The +150 videos from the original Kinstretch with Alex platform now live within a continually growing section of Operation Human First.
Through seeing physiotherapy clients every day, Alex was noticing patterns in terms of things many people seem to benefit from working on. Alex then began creating and incorporating classes, videos, and programs addressing these common issues into other sections of Operation Human First.
One of the goals of OHF is to address a large gap in the industry created by the lack of tools, information, and direction offered to the general population to improve mobility, joint health, and movement capacity. OHF is a resources and collection of tools, information, and follow-along videos to teach people how people can make their body work for THEM.
Please note:
Even though Operation Human First was created and is operated by a physical therapist, OHF is not a type of or a substitute for physical therapy.
